Explore the path of self-discovery through art, body awareness, and sensory practices that promote balance and well-being
Carolina Mar is a cis-woman, artist, art educator, feminist, cultural producer, curious spirit, mermaid, self-learner, and facilitator of artistic experiences that unite movement and healing. Born in the hinterlands of Minas Gerais, in Montes Claros, she began her journey in the world of dance and theater at the age of 16, seeking answers to the mysteries of the body’s possibilities and limits. She holds a degree in Theater from UDESC in Brazil, where she laid the foundations of what would become her artistic and healing practice. She is curious about the world of theater and the theater of the world—dreamer, courageous, inventive, ever-moving, and intuitive.
Traveling in search of belonging, throughout her inventive trajectory, Carolina created projects such as “The Secret Dance of the Pedagogue Forest”, where she worked with Guarani Mbyá indigenous children in Santa Catarina in 2019. In 2020, she directed the play “The Rescue of the Wild Woman”, inspired by the book Women Who Run with the Wolves, which led to her production “Life-Death-Life: From Chaos to Stillness” (2021–2022). Her works explore the intersection between art, magic, ancestry, and spirituality, combining dance-theater, art therapy, the five senses of the body, and ancestral practices such as yoni eggs, yoga, and meditation.
After experiencing an abusive relationship in 2022, which almost distanced her from her career and essence, Carolina transformed her pain into movement and her experience into strength. From this experience, the Skin to Soul project was born, where she guides women through a journey of reconnection with their bodies to alleviate suffering in three stages: active listening, emotional release, and integration.
Carolina is also part of the collectives Alcateia and Children of the Universe, creating spaces that promote belonging, freedom, love, and authenticity. The first, conceived by herself, is a space for feminist studies and creative practices based on the body. The second is a space where she enjoys herself with awareness, studies love, and creates experiences of connection and community. With a theoretical-practical study on love and healing through movement, she is particularly inspired by the paths opened by Anna Halprin, Bell Hooks, Gabrielle Roth, Rodolf Laban, and all the children and women who have crossed her path.
Currently, she lives in Barcelona, Spain, living her best life—free, writing her first book, creating, guiding, and allowing herself to be transformed by what she does. Little by little, she is unlearning the logic of lovelessness and creating safe spaces where beings can feel and express themselves freely.
